The Essential Packing Guide
You know that feeling when you finally zip up your suitcase and it closes easily — not with a fight? That’s the magic of packing light.
Over the years, I’ve learned (often the hard way) that less really is more. Fewer clothes, fewer decisions, fewer what-ifs… and so much more space for freedom, joy, and spontaneous adventure.
Packing light isn’t about sacrifice — it’s about confidence. When every piece you bring works hard, feels good, and looks pulled together, you spend less time deciding what to wear and more time actually living your trip.
1. Choose Foundation Pieces That Work Hard
If it doesn’t mix and match with at least three other pieces, leave it behind.
That’s my golden rule.
Choose versatile layers and high-performing fabrics that resist wrinkles, breathe well, and look polished after hours of travel.
-
🖤 Everyday Travel Wrap – the MVP of any suitcase. It doubles as a shawl, scarf, or cozy layer on the plane.
-
🤍 Travel Blanket Scarf – part wrap, part blanket, and perfect for those chilly flights or evening dinners outdoors.
-
🩶 Pima Cotton Escape Artist Tee – soft, breathable, and elevated enough to wear with leggings or a skirt.
2. Stick to a Simple Color Palette
Pick neutrals you love — black, cream, sand, maybe one accent color.
A cohesive palette means everything works together and you can get dressed in seconds (even in dim hotel light).
3. Accessorize with Intention
Every piece you pack should earn its space. Choose accessories that multitask — like a scarf that’s also a blanket or a cardigan that layers over everything.
👉 The Everyday Travel Wrap is one of my go-tos because it always earns its spot. You can wear it three different ways, and it instantly makes even leggings look elegant.
4. Roll, Don’t Fold
Rolling your clothes not only saves space, it helps prevent wrinkles — especially for soft fabrics like bamboo or modal.
I keep structured pieces folded flat, but roll everything else.
5. The Rule of Three
Wear one, pack two.
Three pairs of shoes, three bottoms, three tops or layers — it’s all you need.
6. Refresh on the Go
A little fabric spray or a few minutes hanging clothes near the shower steam works wonders. I never travel without a travel-size spritz and our TowelTopper, which turns any towel into a robe and doesn't take up space in your suitcase.
7. Keep it Light, Keep it You
Your travel wardrobe should feel like you — just the effortless, easygoing version. Pack the pieces that make you feel confident and comfortable. Leave the rest.
Because the truth is: the lighter you pack, the more space you make for joy.
